Speaking English with the TV Show “Friends”!

(Video Transcript)

Speaking English with the TV Show "Friends"

Oh Phoebe. She’s my favorite character on the TV show Friends. She’s got a fun, zany personality, and she’s always doing something bizarre and unconventional in the show.

And in this episode of Friends, called "The One Where Phoebe Runs," it’s all about how weird she looks when she runs.

And it’s the perfect scene for me to use as I analyze the American English pronunciation, rhythm, reductions, linking, and intonation that the characters use. So get ready to learn all about the American accent and pronunciation, with a little help from your favorite TV show, Friends.

In this video, I’ll show you a short scene from the TV show Friends, and I’ll teach you the pronunciation, rhythm, reductions, linking, and intonation that the characters use in the scene. Then you’ll have a chance to practice each sentence with the characters. This type of practice is a fantastic way to learn real, natural-sounding English in a fun and entertaining way.
