I offer private American accent training for healthcare providers who are non-native English speakers, including doctors, nurses and pharmacists. Sessions are one-to-one and live on Zoom.

I'm Julie Cunningham, MA, CCC-SLP, a licensed speech-language pathologist.

Does this describe you?

  • You want to speak clearly with patients, family members and the rest of the care team.
  • You want to pronounce complex medical terms correctly.
  • You explain treatment plans, medication instructions and consent forms and want your pronunciation to be clear.

What we work on

  • Medical terminology: pronouncing complex medical terms clearly and consistently.
  • Pronunciation and clarity: the sounds that make treatment plans, medication instructions and consent forms easy to follow.
  • Word and sentence stress: where the emphasis falls in medical terms and in everyday sentences.
  • Rhythm and intonation: how your voice moves when you ask questions or give instructions.
  • Team communication: speaking clearly with nurses, specialists and the rest of the care team.

Private sessions can incorporate your own clinical vocabulary and patient-consultation scenarios.
